About DeliveryThe AKG D550 Dynamic Bass Microphone is a high-output cardioid instrument mic designed specifically for instruments with strong bass frequencies such as bass drums, bass amps, trombones and tubas. This unidirectional mic is encased in a tough, rugged chassis and uses AKG's patented Varimotion diaphragm.
The D550’s wide frequency response pushes mid and high frequencies to ensure a strong, powerful sound. Its cardioid polar response makes it most sensitive to sound delivered to its front and less sensitive to sound arriving at its sides. It features a strong plastic casing and a rugged wire-mesh outer grille that protects the transducer system.
The D550 possesses a standard 3-pin male XLR-type connector compatible with any mic cable with a female 3-pin XLR-type connector. It also comes with a H440 clamp that enables you to mount it directly on a snare drum, tom, or similar percussion instruments.
