The Boss RE-202 Space Echo Advanced Effects Pedal is a faithful remodel of the legendary Roland RE-201 Space Echo effects unit from the mid-’70s. Not only does it accurately recreate the vintage behaviour of the original tape-based RE-201, it also offers effects with newer sound characteristics.

Housed in a robust pedal unit, the RE-202 is a powerful piece of kit that utilises Boss’ technological innovations to recreate the RE-201’s distinctive echo sounds, and even goes so far as to recreate all of the strange and wonderful idiosyncrasies that the original was prone to - the kind of unexpected yet charismatic results that magnetic tape and motors would produce.
