DW 5000AH4 Single Chain Bass Drum Pedal

For nearly four decades, DW have pioneered the development of the bass drum pedal and the 5000 series is the foundation for all they have achieved.

The original 5000 pedal possessed a no-nonsense playability courtesy of a simple design - a single chain and sprocket drive system supplied a sensitive, rapid response--and-return action. The 5000AH4 has taken this simple design but tweaked it with some modern touches to ensure it stands up to the rigours of modern playing styles. The result is a whip-fast, responsive and robust pedal, just like the 5000 was.

As well as the single chain and sprocket drive system, the 5000AH4 has a sleek, retro look to it, due in part to the incorporation of the 5000’s original reduced size footboard design. Although it may be less chunky than other models, it certainly is no less robust.

A sturdy tri-pivot toe clamp ensures increased grip to a variety of different bass drum hoops, and the baseplate is coated with a non-skid, high-grip rubber. In short, this pedal is going nowhere.

A few more modern touches add to the appeal of the 5000AH4. The handy inclusion of a clip-mounted DW drum key may be simple, but has proven to be a life-saver for many a gigging drummer. Drag is reduced by the lightweight aluminium Delta Ball-Bearing Hinge and there is also the inclusion of a double ball-bearing spring suspension system that improves performance and enhances the pedals smooth action. Finally, memory locks help to secure the classic DW double-faced plastic / felt beater.
