This Les Paul Classic possesses a rich Mahogany body with a bright Maple top. This is an age-old tonewood combo that forms the legendary Les Paul sound - warm and resonant - but also tended to make the guitars infamously heavy. To solve that particular problem, The Les Paul Classic Modern utilises an innovative “Swiss-cheese” design, featuring 9 voids within the body of the guitar that significantly reduces its weight without compromising its tone or choking its resonance. The guitar's reduced weight increases comfort while you perform, allowing you to perform for longer before fatigue sets in. 

The Classic Modern’s smooth Rosewood fingerboard sits atop an asymmetrical slim-tapered Mahogany neck, shaped as such in order to ease tension and stress on your left hand and keep you flying up and down those silky frets for long sessions. Each of the 22 medium-jumbo frets has gone through Plek Pro’s optimisation process. This fret-levelling technology is mostly reserved for high-end guitars and helps to eliminate fret-buzz and intonation problems. 

Gibson has fitted this guitar with their great Burstbucker pickups that do a fine job of recreating the classic, much-loved LP voice that we all know and love. A look through the guitar’s electronics uncovers even more treasures; push/pull volume pots function as coil tappers to allow the isolation of your pickups, conveniently letting you switch from single coil to humbucker in an instant, while push/pull tone pots offer control over phase-reversal and pure-bypass of the bridge pickup tone control.

The Gibson Les Paul Classic Electric Guitar also features a Tune-o-matic bridge, vintage-style Grover Rotomatic tuners and gold top-hat knobs for those looking for retro appeal.
