The Gibson SG Special follows the tradition of an all-Mahogany build but presents it in a lightweight, easy-to-handle format that makes it incredibly comfortable to play and allows you to perform with gusto. The ease of handling is further enhanced by a ‘60s-style SlimTaper neck profile, thinned out so you can really get to grips with it and produce some amazing runs up and down the fretboard. It feels incredibly comfortable in hand and is a perfect counterpart to the body’s cutaway shape that provides easy access to the highest frets. Together, these features add a great deal of performance enhancement. A rolled-edged Rosewood fretboard featuring Plek’d frets is the icing on the cake, providing a perfect playing surface to perform some fantastic bends.

The SG Specials tonal dexterity comes courtesy of a pair of brightly-voiced P-90 Single-Coil Pickups. Boasting an incredibly versatile sound, these pickups are famed for their punchy character and the little bit of growl that underpins it. P-90’s have cemented themselves in the annals of many-a musical genre's history - they simply seem to sound great, no matter what style you apply them to. Sweet, sweet, vintage tone. A three-position switch enables your choice between the neck, middle and bridge positions, giving you some great sonic variety. 

The SG Special also features a compensated wraparound bridge and vintage Kluson tuners that provide great tuning stability. And of course, there's the awesome cream neck binding and Gibson’s signature gloss nitrocellulose lacquer that adds a real high-end sparkle to his absolutely wonderful guitar.
