Gretsch Catalina Club Classic 20" 4-Piece Shell Pack - Satin Walnut Glaze

The Gretsch Catalina Club Classic Shell Pack does a fine job of fusing the old-school style with new-school functionality. This set of vintage-style shells possess a solid and substantial array of hardware whilst retaining a classic vibe. This kit comprises of an 12 x 8'' rack tom, 14 x 14'' floor tom, 20 x 14'' bass drum and a matching 14 x 5.5'' snare.

This 4-piece version of the Classic Catalina Club series features larger drums than the Jazz series for a louder, bolder sound and a little more projection to their warm timbre. Crafted from seven layers of finest Mahogany ply, these shells are super-strong, super-rich and incredibly well-rounded, with a great dynamic reach extending from booming depths to focused attack enhanced by 30-degree bearing edges and natural shell interiors. The snare is warm and snappy with reduced overtones and sits brilliantly within the sonic spectrum of the entire kit.

Gretsch has equipped these fine shells with some great hardware that supports a modern performance whilst enhancing the kits vintage aesthetic. This includes a round ''gas cap'' bass drum mount plate, reduced-mass tom mount brackets, ultra-low profile GTS mounting system and a single tom holder. The 20'' bass drum is kitted out with telescopic bass drum spurs and matching finish wooden bass drum hoops. It is also fitted with a clear bass drum batter head with a muffle ring to provide an extremely accurate kick response. The toms and snare feature high-quality 1.6mm triple flanged hoops.

The Gretsch Catalina Club Shell Pack is a brilliant kit for a very reasonable price indeed, and offers some brilliant features of a quality that far exceeds its cost. This is a kit that will appeal to drummers of all standards.
