Gretsch Catalina Club Jazz 20" 4-Piece Shell Pack - Gloss Antique Burst

The Catalina Club Jazz is a tidy jazz-size kit packed with sophistication and mature vintage tone. These shells are crafted from 7-plies of rich, warm Mahogany imbued with a deep, warm tone and broad sonic range. At the heart of this kit lies a snappy 20” bass drum that owes its punchy sound to its shallow depth; at only 14” deep, less air needs to be moved between skins, making the feel and response sharp and exciting.

The 12 x 8” rack tom and 14 x 14” floor tom provide the rest of the kit's tonal width and balance very nicely with the sparky little bass drum. A cutting - yet not overwhelming - 14 x 5.5” snare comes in a nice matching finish, as do the bass drum hoops; a few nice details that give this kit a great feeling of class and a sense of unity. The Gloss Antique Burst finish is absolutely stunning and really enhances the kits vintage aesthetic.

The Catalina Club’s hardware has been given an overhaul and provides a fresh new look without losing any vintage appeal. A round “gas cap” bass drum mount plate, a Mini GTS mounting system, reduced-mass tom mount brackets and Gretsch T-Wing screws and bolts give this Catalina Club the old-school Gretsch look and feel of those old days in Brooklyn.
