Meinl Byzance Matt Garstka Equilibrium 14" Hi Hat Cymbals - Multi-surface Finish

Designed in conjunction with Animals As Leaders drummer Matt Garstka, the Meinl Byzance 14” Matt Garstka Equilibrium Hi-Hats deliver an ideal balance of tone, volume, response and attack. Each cymbal is crafted to achieve Matt’s dream sound - a perfectly balanced and versatile set of hats with a warm, cutting and dry voice.

Each cymbal features a multi-finish surface with various sections either lathed for brightness or left unlathed to boost attack and bite, and there are also sandblasted sections that add the dry timbre to these great cymbals. The bottom cymbal features six holes drilled around the bell which reduces airlock that helps to increase the intensity of the foot ‘chick’. 

When open, these hats produce a broad, loud and sloshy wash that is greatly complementary to their closed sound; a concise, tight attack with an airy feel and a strong, substantial sticking sound. These hi-hats provide a brilliantly balanced sound that lends itself to a broad range of musical genres and playing styles.
