Meinl Byzance Extra Dry 15” Hi Hat Cymbals - Multi-surface Finish

The Byzance Extra Dry 15” Dual Hi-Hats offers up a very interesting sonic palette for the player to experiment with. Forged from Bronze B20 Alloy and hand-crafted in Turkey, Meinl’s Byzance cymbals each have their own individual sound. Add a dual-textured playing surface and you truly have a unique set of hats on your hands.

The cymbal is divided into two rings; the inner ring is left raw and hand-hammered and provides a warm dry wash, whilst the outer ring is lathed to a brilliant finish, giving crisp, clean definition. The entire cymbal has been pulled together by sporadic, bold hammered dimples, which help to smooth out the contrast.

The unusual finish not only sounds great but looks great too. Overall, the sound is typical of the Byzance series - dark and dry, with a full-bodied, earthy sound - but the dual Hi Hats offer up a refreshing twist, adding a crisper, brighter musicality to the darkness, and superior sensitive responsiveness compared to the fully hand-hammered Byzance hi-hats.
