About DeliveryThe Meinl Byzance Extra Dry Dual 18” China Cymbal offers a unique, trashy flavour that we are confident will slot easily into your set-up, providing the opportunity to experiment with a different, interesting new ceiling to their sonic spectrum.
Made in Turkey, Meinl’s Byzance cymbals are fired and hand-crafted from Bronze B20 alloy. This already gives the series an individual sound, but once a dual-textured playing surface is added, the result is a genuinely unique cymbal with a huge amount of character.
This surface of this cymbal is divided into two rings; its inner body wears a raw finish while the outer edge is lathed to a brilliant finish. The surface of the entire cymbal has been pulled together by sporadic, bold hand-hammered dimples which smooth out the contrast, both visually and audibly.
This unusual finish not only supplies this cymbal with a wholly individual sound but it has an unorthodox beauty about it too. Its fundamental sound is typical of a Byzance series cymbal; dark, dry and full-bodied, with an earthy whisper - but this Extra Dry Dual China explodes with a bright trashy bite and decays rapidly.
Thanks to the sound contrast that these dual playing surfaces create, the Byzance Extra Dry Dual 18” China possesses a dynamic range and will produce some great new sounds to emphasise your creative expressions.
