The finish on this Crash cymbal is divided into two sonically different - yet expertly-balanced - rings that fuse together to form a unique, unrivalled sound. The centre portion of the cymbal features a raw finish with a hand-hammered peen pattern to achieve its low, dusky timbre, while the outer ring is lathed and polished to a high-sheen finish and adds vibrant energy to the mix. The raw unlathed surface and extensive hand hammering may present the assumption that this cymbal would be loud and fierce, but although it is capable of powerful attack, the 18'' Extra Dry Dual Crash is at its best when played at lower volumes.
