The CC14DUH owe their distinctive sound to a dual-lathed surface - a centre ring of wide lathing and an outer ring of narrow lathing combine to produce a great level of musical complexity. They have a bright and immediate response, plenty of stick definition, and a loud, full-bodied wash with a somewhat dark character. The computerised dual-lathing and hammering process also helps to create a distinctive look - a dark, patterned centre framed by a smooth, buffed edge.
