The Asian Mahogany gives the Pearl Export a deeper fundamental tone and punchy round attack which is often reserved for mid-range and up kits, whereas the Poplar balances this and adds greater sustain and a boost in the top end. Together, this makes a kit that cuts through the mix neatly, while also taking enough sonic space to sound authoritative and sophisticated. In addition, though this kit has an original character, it is not so unique as to not be versatile, lending it perfectly to drummers who play a wide range of genres. With this shell recipe being formed using Pearl’s Superior Shell Technology, which concludes with shaping the shells under 1000 PSI of hydraulic pressure, this kit is ultra-durable; built for the rigours of the road.
