Fitting the BT-1 to a drum kit...
The curved design of the BT-1 allows it to be placed anywhere around the outer edge of your drums, say for example, at 12 o’clock. It attaches to the drum via a tension rod or a standard rod-type mount and the internal design eliminates false triggering due to crosstalk while playing the surrounding drums. All the parts needed to attach the BT-1 to the drum are included and fitting takes just a few minutes. Then just connect the BT-1 to another electronic device (your V-Drums module or a sampler) and you’re off.

Using the BT-1 with a V-Drums kit...
If you’re already a V-Drummer (good choice, by the way), the BT-1 lets you add additional triggers without having to add more pads, which can take up valuable space on your V-Drums rack. Just plug the BT-1 into a spare auxiliary trigger input on your V-Drums module or an SPD-series percussion pad and you can start adding more sounds into your repertoire. The BT-1 can also help take your performance a step further as well, by controlling many functions of your V-Drums module including start and stop songs and phrase loops, selecting different kits, changing tempo, switching effects on/off, and many others. If you’ve always wished you had more limbs when playing, the BT-1 will definitely make your life easier.

Using the BT-1 with an acoustic drum kit...
If you own an acoustic kit, the BT-1 offers an easy and affordable way to integrate electronics without needing to jump headfirst into the world of standalone electronic drum kits. Once connected to a module or sampler (like the Roland SPD-SX sampling pad) you’ll be able to trigger vocal phrases or additional musical backing sequences like strings, pads and basslines. You can also augment what you already have by beefing up your acoustic kick drum with a subby, rib-cracking electronic kick drum, or mixing in a different snare sound. Or maybe you just need more cowbell (there’s always one). Unlike larger pads and footswitches, the BT-1 blends in seamlessly with your kit and you don’t have to adjust your setup or playing style. But since you can now add new sounds to your set, your playing will head into new and exciting directions – while you remain happily seated behind your trusty acoustic drum kit.
