Although these voices are already outstanding, you also have a whole host of deep-editing options to explore that allow you to hone each sound to perfection. The onboard Piano Designer offers a huge range of adjustable instrument parameters, while the My Stage and PureAcoustic Ambience functions offer comprehensive control over your virtual environment and the way your instrument interacts with it. To ensure that all of the FP-90X’s state-of-the-art intricacies are presented in the best possible way, it possesses a high-fidelity onboard four-speaker sound system with a projection array that encompasses every angle, so you and your audience experience the same top-quality sound. The sound generated by these powerful woofers and twin dome tweeters is cleverly routed through specifically positioned vents in the FP-90X’s cabinet, resulting in a more realistic, enveloping sound much like an acoustic piano would emit. This immersive experience is also available in your headset thanks to Rolands brilliant Headphones Acoustic Projection feature.
The FP-90X’s PHA-50 keyboard is a marvel. The same keyboard used in Roland’s high-end home pianos, the PHA-50 offers an incredibly realistic feel and response, taking your performances to the next level. Constructed from a hybrid mixture of natural and synthetic material, these keys give off the same warm feel as ebony and ivory, with the added bonus of being extremely stable and durable. The keys feature a crafted hammer-action mechanism that supports a variety of hammer response options that are tailored to suit your playing style.
Connectivity and compatibility are essential for any modern player, and the FP-90X is equipped with plenty of communicative functionality. You can jam along with your favourite tracks thanks to Bluetooth connectivity, and Bluetooth MIDI enables you to connect with music composition apps like Roland’s Zenbeats or Apple’s GarageBand. You can connect a microphone and add effects to your vocals for easy live performances, and even record your vocals using the FP-90X’s onboard recording features. As standard, the FP-90X comes with USB audio/MIDI connectivity so you can interface with computers for recording purposes.
