Roland VAD-507 V-Drums Acoustic Design Hybrid Drum Kit

The new VAD-507 kit is a masterful combination of digital versatility and acoustic gravitas; it features the brand new TD-27 V2.0 module that offers players great sonic versatility whilst its full-size wooden shells remain true to the feel and response of a traditional kit.

The VAD-507 awesome hardware revolves around the brilliant new TD-27 2.0 sound module. This is a powerful drum brain brimming with dynamic, natural-sounding voices, new kits and expanded effects. This module takes full advantage of its advanced Prismatic Sound Modelling - a high-end feature developed originally for Roland’s flagship TD-50X - to produce amazing hi-def voices that will astound your audiences. It also offers a large number of adjustable parameters that allow you to customise many aspects of each component in your kits, and PureAcoustic Ambience tech allows you to virtually drop your kit into a variety of adjustable hyper-realistic environments that let you sound just like you're playing in a cathedral, a garage, an arena - pretty much anywhere you can think of. 

The module features 3 additional AUX inputs for future expansion possibilities, and built-in Bluetooth allows you to wirelessly connect to your smartphone and stream audio through the module, so you can play along to your favourite tracks. A variety of practice aids and warm-up modes are there to keep you inspired and help you along your learning/practice journey, and if you want to record drum tracks, the TD-27 V2.0 has plenty of user-friendly functions to support you. You can use an SD card to import your own WAV samples and utilise an integrated 28-channel USB audio interface for professional-standard computer music production. If you’re using your kit live, there's a stereo mix output and two assignable outputs for sending individual drum sounds to a PA mixer, so you can hand over the levels of your snare and kick as individually controllable signals to a sound engineer - and they will thank you for it.

In addition to the comprehensive onboard features the TD-27 V2.02 has to offer, there are even more to be discovered through the Roland Cloud, a brilliant online resource chock-full of additional sounds, samples, and artist kits - all of which you will gain access to when you register your new VAD-507 with Roland. 

The VAD-507’s full-size hybrid shells and ultra-responsive cymbal pads have been designed to match up to the outstanding high quality of the new TD-27 V2.0 module. Each drum shell is shaped from wood, wrapped in classic gloss black and fitted with custom chrome hardware that allows you to adjust their double-mesh heads’ tension to suit your preference.

The shells of the Vad-507 feature robust mesh heads that relay every nuance of your playing and are tension-adjustable so you can dial them in to have the perfect feel that's right for you. The PD14ODS 14” Snare features independent head and rim triggers designed to help eliminate hot spots for a more consistent, enhanced response. It has also been designed to be mounted on a traditional snare stand for a more authentic feel and better positioning options. Both the PDA100-MS 10” rack tom, PDA120-MS 12” rack tom and the 14” PDA140F-MS floor tom also have the same dual-triggered functionality.

Moving on to the cymbals. The dual-trigger CY-14C-T crash and CY-16CR-T 16” crash/ride feature a new, thinner profile that helps them to respond and move like a traditional cymbal. Both the CY-18DR 18” digital ride and VH-14D 14” digital hi-hats are extremely intuitive and responsive. They each feature high-resolution, multi-sensor triggering for unparalleled dynamics and accurate positional detection, resulting in unbelievable response and next-level authenticity. The hats are designed to emulate the real feel of their acoustic counterparts, matching them closely in dimension and strike response. They even mount on a traditional hi-hat stand (sold separately).

The KD-200-MS Bass Drum blurs the line between analogue and digital. This full-size bass drum features an innovative pad sensor built into its head that harnesses the principles that a traditional acoustic one works upon; rather than just sensing the strike impact, this sensor also picks up on the vented air pressure inside the shell, resulting in a very authentic pedal feel and extremely accurate digital sound reproduction.

Lastly, the VAD-507 comes with a DCS-30 Double Braced Combi Stand, two DBS-30 Double Braced Boom Stands and an APC-10 Clamp suitable for mounting the module to your hi-hat stand.
