Description
The medium-thin Sabian 18" AAX Freq Crash cymbal is bestowed with a fantastic cutting tone that slices its way through any mix with an assured power. With features based upon Sabian Cymbal Vote winner specs, this cymbal exhibits a clever “dual-surface” finish; an outer ring is traditionally lathed combined with a specially lathed “Freq” inner ring, a mixture of sweet-and-dry and pure that produces a smooth and cutting crash with great clarity. A raw-finished bell completes this sonic blend perfectly by adding a crisp, dark flavour into this cymbals complex mix.
The AAX series is manufactured from Sabian’s proprietary B20 Bronze alloy, a blend infused with a unique brand of tonal darkness. It is an intriguing complex sound that gives the Freq Crash its distinctive voice, full of intricate subtleties that are most notable when recorded - this cymbal truly shines in a studio environment. That said, it’s clear pitch and powerful output can cut through even the noisiest of mixes, making it brilliant for stage use.
The “Freq” dual-lathe manufacturing process gives the AAX 18” Freq Crash an intense, energy-fuelled burst of vibrant tone with a huge, open sound. While most rock cymbals have their focused highs generated by the bell, the 18" Freq Crash gets its cutting power from its fantastic dual-lathed finish.
