Back in the 80’s, the demand for more affordable versions of Fender’s classic guitars reached a crescendo and it was Squier that met the demand - and has been producing fantastic value-for-money Fender-inspired (and endorsed) guitars ever since. Squier has enabled generations of players to access quality that they may not have otherwise been able to experience, and for that, they should be applauded. To commemorate this milestone, Squier has produced a series of “Gold” editions of the models that they first launched with, and this Squier 40th Anniversary Jazz Bass Guitar is one of them. 

This Jazz Bass has always had a strong, stylish look but this Gold Edition is brimming with charm and sophistication. Its instantly recognisable body shape has been crafted to match original spec and its contours sit perfectly against your body for an extremely comfortable playing experience. Its Maple neck is shaped to a C-profile for a modern feel and a 9.5”-radius bound Indian Laurel fingerboard provides a smooth runway for you to produce sweet-sounding runs. The fingerboard's Pearloid block inlays also add a touch of class to its look. 

This Gold Edition Jazz Bass features some stunning gold features that any J-Bass fan (or Squier fan) will find mesmerising. A striking gold anodised aluminium pickguard is likely to be the first thing that catches your eye and the jack plate/input, strap buttons, vintage-style tuning machines and 4-saddle bridge with barrel saddles are all gold-plated to match for a spectacular effect. This J-Bass’ legendary tone is provided by a duo of Fender-Designed split single-coil pickups with alnico 5 magnets.
