Vic Firth Tala Wand Slatz

Designed in conjunction with Steve Smith (Journey, Mariah Carey), the Tala Wands have given us a refreshing new entry into the stick/rod category, and some great new sound textures to explore.

By bolstering the centre of the rods with a foam core, the Tala Wands produce a new, unique sound and handle brilliantly, with outstanding rebound and response, a deft playability and low volume properties.

The new Slatz wands have pushed the concept further. Instead of rods, the foam core is surrounded by four flat bamboo slats wrapped in thin PVC. These ‘Slatz’ produce a dense, deep tone and volume lesser than those produced by sticks, but more than other Tala Wand models.
