The FGX series of electro-acoustic guitars from Yamaha brings together the design of the famous FG series, with the addition of electronics in order to add modern convenience to the instrument at prices suitable for tighter budgets.
The Yamaha FGX820C is a dreadnought shaped guitar with a few standout features that set it apart from other guitars in the price range. Dreadnoughts are often chosen for the huge amount projection and heaps of volume they produce, however, some players find that this can be a bit overwhelming - and that's where this guitar is different. It features a solid spruce top with mahogany back and sides, giving it a very desirable yet classic tone, but it's the internal structure that's particularly unique.
A newly updated scalloped bracing pattern which sets it apart from any previous models or other brands. This bracing allows for greater structural integrity, but with more volume and projection, plus an increase in the low end and a bigger tone overall, whilst ensuring the resonance will be more easily controlled, giving an even more user friendly experience than ever before.
Fitted with an SRT Piezo pickup which is designed to use the individual elements for each of the strings to produce an ultra-clear and ultra-wide bandwidth signal to deliver an excellent dynamic response as well as possessing exceptional tonal accuracy.
Combined with the SYSTEM 66 pre amp that possesses a 3-band EQ, mid FQ, volume control and inbuilt tuner, the Yamaha’s electronics enhances the FGX820C capabilities to the max. Last but not least, another cool feature is that the FGX Series now runs using 2 x AA batteries (rather than the traditional 9v).
