For over a century, Paiste (pronounced “Pie-stee”, fact-fans) has played a pivotal role in cymbal innovation and been responsible for many new and exciting designs.

Based in Switzerland, the Paiste company is the world's third-largest manufacturer of metal percussion in the world, producing a vast and eclectic library of kit cymbals and orchestral percussion.

The company has a rich history and its resilience is a testament to the Paiste family. Founded by Estonian musician Michail Toomas Paiste in 1906, the company began life in St. Petersburg, Russia. Over the following forty years, the conflicts of war would force the company to shift locations around Europe to survive - first to Estonia, then Poland, on to Germany. Having taken huge steps and made massive sacrifices to survive two world wars, the Paiste company was rewarded with success, continuing to grow before opening an additional workshop in Switzerland, which to this day remains its main home from which the Paiste family still runs the business.

Renowned for their constant pursuit of fresh new sounds, Paiste’s major breakthroughs have come by the way of developing a variety of different alloys from which they have created some of their most acclaimed ranges.

Wembley Music Centre’s vast cymbal vaults feature many of Paiste’s finery, including their entry-level PST’s, heavy-duty RUDE’s and their proprietary 2002 and Signature series.
