Filter pedals are ideal for adding vocal-esque, funky effects to your guitar and bass lines. They work by shaping the frequency peaks - similarly to an EQ - and using a Low-Frequency Oscillator to “sweep” between the frequency spectrum. This results in an automated wah-like effect that is used to great effect on funky guitar and basslines.
