DW Collector’s 14 X 5.5" Maple Snare Drum - Matt Black

The DW Collector’s Maple 14 X 5.5" Snare Drum combines the vibrant energy of its 10 ply, 5.5” deep Maple shell with a smokey, dark aesthetic to deliver a high-octane performance. Crafted from exquisite hand-selected North American Maple, this snare has a naturally pure and warm tone with an exciting character. It may look like a high-end masterpiece but at heart, this is a workhorse - a super-reliable trooper that has set the standard against which all other DW snare drums are measured.

Each and every Collector's series shell is sourced, constructed and expertly finished in the DW’s USA Custom Shop. This particular snare is finished in a contemporary Matt Black and perfectly complemented by smokey Black Nickel hardware. The shell consists of 10 plies of Maple totalling a thickness of 8mm, reinforced by an additional 6 plies at the edges. This makes for an extremely stable drum with a great amount of tuning consistency and enhanced warmth and tonal depth. 

60-degree bearing edges take the snares' levels of resonance and attack to all new heights and a lacquered interior finish offers a keen brightness to an otherwise full-bodied sound. The DW Collector’s Maple 14 X 5.5" Snare Drum is also equipped with a MAG Snare throw-off and 3-point positioning butt-plate.
