DW Collector's Maple 14" x 6.5" Snare Drum - Matt Black

The Collector’s Series Maple Snare combines the rich and full sound of its 10 ply, 6.5” deep shell with a dark and smokey aesthetic to offer up a great playing experience. This is a highly versatile drum finely crafted from exquisite hand-selected North American Maple and finished in foil. It's a trooper of a drum - a great sounding, ultra-reliable workhorse - and it is hardly surprising that it has set the standard against which all DW snare drums are measured.

Each Collector's series shell is constructed and customized in the US and is fitted with any California Custom Shop finish and drum hardware colour option. This snare is finished in a sleek Matt Black and is complemented by smokey Black Nickel hardware. The shell consists of 10-ply Maple and a 6 ply Maple reinforcement hoop which adds extra stability and tuning consistency, and which when combined with a 60-degree bearing edge offer an amazing level of resonance and attack. The shell possesses a lacquered interior which offers a keen brightness to an otherwise full-bodied sound, and the addition of DW’s MAG Snare throw-off and 3-point butt positioning allows for some serious levels of tuning.
