DW once again proves its mastery over tonewood and expertly draws the full warmth and natural timbre out of hand-selected North American Maple and harnesses it into this cracking snare drum. Crafted from 10-ply Maple, the shell also features a 6-ply Maple reinforcement hoop that increases structural stability and tuning consistency and 60-degree bearing edges enhance the shells levels of resonance and attack by optimising head-to-shell contact. The shell's lacquered interior adds a keen brightness that complements its full-bodied sound and its exterior is finished in a coating of Natural Satin Oil that provides a protective layer that allows the Maple to breathe. The lacquer's clear satin sheen highlights the beauty and uniqueness of the subtle grain that runs through the Maple.
