When you push your cymbal boom arms to their maximum length, the weight of your cymbal puts excess pressure on the tilter, which gets stressed while trying to keep its grip. Not only that, but you also run the risk of your cymbal stand toppling over. Not good.

This DW Counterweight is a useful way to maximise the potential of your boom arms with running the aforementioned risks. It simply slips over the back end of any 1/2" diameter boom cymbal arm and affixes via a simple wingnut clamp. The extra weight it provides balances out the downward force of your boom arm at full extension - a much safer and healthier way to utilise your boom stand at max reach.
