This Epiphone 1958 Korina Explorer Electric Guitar is a metal head’s dream. Taking its cues from the original Gibson model, the 1958 Korina Explorer derives its name from the beautiful Korina tonewood that makes up its body and neck.

The Korina gives the Explorer’s solid body rich, warm tone similar to that of top-shelf mahogany, but with just a smidge more top end to it, and its natural yellow-green hue gives off a rare aesthetic quality. The body is crafted in the iconic angular Explorer shape and the neck features a period-correct ‘58 shape and a long neck tenon. 

A Burstbucker 3 at the bridge and a Burstbucker 2 at the neck is a winning combo, tried, tested and true. These pickups have been specially designed to achieve as close to a ‘50s PAF tone as possible, offering up a rocky, bluesy sound with plenty of attack. These humbuckers possess a broad tonal range that is serviced by high-quality CTS pots and Mallory capacitors.
