The Epiphone ES-339 may be light and compact, but has a huge personality. The original ES series made its debut in the late '50s and its comfortable playability and impeccable tone soon became popular with the playing masses, leading to its status as one of the most iconic guitars ever conceived. 

This Epiphone ES-339 lovingly reproduces the rock’n’roll vibe of the early ES models and stays as close as possible to the original thin line archtop’s design spec - only steering away to modernise certain elements to ensure that it plays to modern standards. By developing innovative manufacturing methods and using economical components, Epiphone are able to produce the feel, attitude, warmth and power of the early models while keeping the cost amazingly low. 

The ES-339 uses Epiphone’s Alnico Classic PRO neck and bridge positioned humbuckers to produce its broad spectrum of vintage and modern tones. They serve up the same meaty, raw and chimney sounds that the original ES’ guitars delivered and translate the rich, sweet tones of the laminated Maple body and Mahogany neck with great genuineness. The reduced-sized body is very comfortable and easy to handle, and its solid Maple centre block does a fine job of taming any undesired feedback caused by its semi-hollow construction. The hand-rolled Mahogany neck features a Rounded ”C” profile that provides a sleek, comfortable feel and an Indian Laurel fingerboard adds to its perfect playing experience.

Vintage-style nickel hardware provides plenty of classic vibes whilst greatly enhancing the reliability of this guitar. Epiphone's LockTone Tune-o-matic bridge with LockTone stopbar tailpiece and their vintage machine heads provide a solid action high-performance tuning stability.
