True to the design of the ‘60s model, this Les Paul’s infamous single cut-away, solid Mahogany body features an exquisite carved Maple top, a Mahogany neck and a sleek Rosewood fingerboard. This expertly-fused tonewood blend results in the infamous LP sound we all know and love. The guitars substantial physical presence is comfortable and well-balanced, allowing the the player a degree of freedom to fully explore the entirety of the asymmetrical slim tapered neck, designed to ease tension and reduce stress on the fret hand. A smooth and intuitive Rosewood fingerboard is home to 22 medium-jumbo frets that have been subject to Plek Pro levelling - an innovative manufacturing process that shapes and levels each fret for optimal performance.

In keeping with the authentic ‘60s aesthetic, this guitar wears a final coat of ‘Nitro’ nitrocellulose lacquer. Thinner than the polyurethane finishes of most modern guitars, Nitro lacquer enhances the guitars authentic look and allows its tonewoods to breathe and resonate to its fullest.

The amazing tones of the Les Paul Standard are generated by a pair of Gibson’s brilliant Burstbucker pickups - a 61 R and a 61T in the neck and bridge position respectively. These humbucking pickups produce a full-bodied, sweet tone, bolstered by the infamous Les Paul crunch and with an edgier attitude than standard Burstbuckers. Audio taper potentiometers provide a smooth, even volume and tone transition and orange drop capacitors provide a great level of frequency control without loss of gain.

Gibson have completed this Les Paul Standard ‘60s guitar with vintage-style hardware such as an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, an aluminium stop bar tailpiece and Grover Rotomatic tuners that add the perfect touch of vintage class and level of high quality that can only be attributed to a Gibson Les Paul.
