The 20” Foundry Reserve Light Ride is a thin and lightweight cymbal with a rich, dark presence. Unlike its thicker, heavier brother (the mediumweight 20” Foundry Reserve Ride) that offers a deeper, richer sound, this ride has more dynamic expression - light playing offers a tight, well-defined dry sound, but when opened up, this cymbal swells into a powerful, musical crash with tuneful, warm undertones and an explosive attack.

The Foundry Reserve Light Ride possesses a fully lathed playing surface that provides a solid dry wash with plenty of body - the perfect foundation for the unique hand-hammered, deep-pitted texture that gives these cymbals unmatched darkness and an ‘ashy’ quality. The extra-deep hammer strokes give this range a very distinctive look, but most importantly it is these calculated divots that create the intricate mixture of dry, smokey soundscapes and crisp, bright tones that these cymbals offer.
