This great range of acoustics and electro-acoustics have been co-created by acclaimed luthier Michael Sanden and the Tanglewood Artisanal Team - and the Tanglewood Blackbird Super Folk Cutaway Electro Acoustic Guitar is an exemplary example of the fruits of their labour.  

The TWBBSFCE Blackbird Super Folk Cutaway Electro Acoustic Guitar is packed with vintage character and a great deal of attention has been paid to achieving the authentic look of US guitars of the ‘40s and ‘50s. It boasts vintage ivory ABS binding that accurately simulates the look of Bakelite and an all-new  “Smokestack Black“ finish, both of which give a smoky, ‘40s-style blues-house charm.

Although large, the Super Folk Cutaway body shape is extremely ergonomic and comfortable to play. Shallow and narrower than a dreadnought, its shape moulds itself better to your body, allowing you to really get your strumming arm wrapped around it for the best possible action. Its handy cutaway makes this the ideal guitar for the creative player who requires easy access to the upper frets. It also has a large lower bout, ensuring a resonant low end.

This Blackbirds sweet, focused musicality can be honed and controlled thanks to the addition of Tanglewood’s Premium Plus Eq system, a preamp and pickup combo that does an amazing job of capturing this guitar's beautiful natural sound and optimising it before it sends a signal for amplification.
