After establishing a fan-favourite series of old-timey influenced guitars - their brilliant Crossroads range - Tanglewood has taken the concept a step further and produced the stunning Blackbird series, a great range of acoustics and electro-acoustics full to the brim with vintage ‘40s and ‘50s character.

The Tanglewood TWBBOE Blackbird Orchestra Electro Acoustic Guitar has been lovingly co-created by acclaimed luthier Michael Sanden and the Tanglewood Artisanal Team - a winning collaboration. You can tell that a great deal of painstaking attention has been paid to achieve the authentic vibe of US guitars of that era. Stripped back aesthetics and a dark, smokey charcoal-stained hue is contrasted by the TWBBOE’s tight and bright fundamental sound, while carefully constructed bracing enhances bottom-end resonance and adds an extra level of clarity to the TWBBOE’s highs.

This Blackbirds sweet musicality can be honed and controlled thanks to the addition of Tanglewood’s Premium Plus EQ system, a preamp and pickup combo that does an amazing job of capturing this guitar's beautiful natural sound and optimising it before it sends a signal for amplification. Vintage ivory ABS accurately simulates the look of Bakelite for an authentic ‘40s-style vibe and the all-new  “Smokestack Black“ finish gives this guitar a smoky, charcoal-stained blues-house charm.
