Naturally, this K series Cluster crash features K series hammering, but it is the addition of deeper, cluster hammering that grants these cymbals their unique voice. These are sections of very close hammering, which results in a trashy tone with a fast attack. What we love is that this cymbal achieves tones that are usually reserved for cymbals that have rivets or holes cut into it, and so offers a more unique voice. Drummers are demanding more and more distinctive sounds in their cymbal setup, and this cymbal has certainly been designed for the modern drummer. Though still offering the dark, long sustain sound of the K series, it offers a trashy, quick attack which allows this cymbal to be appropriate both as a crash and as an effects cymbal.
